What To Expect At My Appointment

Initial assessment of the vestibular system will take approximately 1 hour and will include a thorough history taking and assessment of your mobility, balance, and eye movements in different positions.  Treatment will then depend on the findings and may include particle positioning techniques, education, & balance exercises.

Common Questions

Will I Feel Dizzy After The Assessment?

It is not uncommon to feel a bit off for the rest of the day; but some clients may not have any symptoms following assessments.

Should Someone Come With Me To My Assessment?

If you are attending for dizziness, then, it is a good idea to bring someone with you. You may feel a bit "off" after your assessment and it is good to have someone to drive you home.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

This depends on the cause. With BPPV (most common inner ear cause of dizziness), typically within 3 treatments symptoms are resolved. If symptoms are arising from a neurological condition (stroke, concussion), then follow ups typically occur over a period of months.
